In the end, we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand and we will understand only what we are taught
Conservation has one big issue. We mainly protect those species we consider particularly beautiful, impressive or remarkable. But not that visually appealing animals also need our attention. They are part of complex ecosystems interacting with many other species. If one of these nodes falls apart, consequences for the partners may be devastating. There are so many interesting and beautiful animals out there we definitely should know more about.
